The Rosy Side of Things

I went outside this morning to take out some trash and clean out my vehicle and I saw the most spectacular sight one could see in winter. The trees were frozen over and it was beautiful. Like an icicle forest. Most people in the winter opt to not be awake this early and go out and about walking to the dumpster, but I chose to. Even though I live in the city right now, it gives me a taste of what it's somewhat like to be out in the mountains with the trees all this way. Most people don't give winter a chance as a beautiful season, but it truly is... minus the black ice, sleet, and freezing rain. Just like any other season, there's always a downfall to it. So as the weather fluctuates and everything thaws, ices over then thaws again.. I am reminded of how animals have to deal with this everyday. If they can do it, surely I can as well.

Today is my first day of my new job! Of course I have a high anxiety for first day jitters. That seems to never leave me alone no matter how many jobs I seem to get. I know I will do well, just new situations always get me nervous and I always ALWAYS over-complicate things. In other fun news... I am planning a trip to the Black Hills in a couple of months! So I am also doing the financials on that and planning of sorts. I can't wait to go camping and see more of the state that I grew up in, people have the tendency to not actually explore the place that they live in.. which is super sad! Out here, there is so much to actually see when you get to the west part of the state. It's just a shame to not see it when I can actually retain the memories. I've gone to see Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse Monument before, but I was just a child then. I only have brief moments that I can actually recall from that trip.

When I'm having a day off and I have the place to myself, I am more creative compared to when I'm stressed out and worrying about stuff/busy. I'm just happy that this photo turned out so well! As I will be going into my second job tomorrow, I have anxiety of course but I'm also hopeful that it will help me take my mind off of things. I know I've been very quiet this month but I've been working on myself and what I want in my life. Also, holidays are either a super happy time for me... or they are a reminder of what I've lost. The fact that I have both sides of the coin gives me a certain perspective on different things we take for granted and the fact that we should all 'seize the moment'. I always wanted to learn the harp in high school, I remember sitting in varsity orchestra gazing at the harp and asking my friend who played it to teach me some odds and ends!
