With the impending winter storm coming upon us here... the only thing to do is to actually celebrate Christmas for what it is and hope that we aren't actually getting 16 inches of snow. As the rain is coming down today I am reminded how much I really do love the rain. Today is my first day of my new job! Of course I have a high anxiety for first day jitters. That seems to never leave me alone no matter how many jobs I seem to get. I know I will do well, just new situations always get me nervous and I always ALWAYS over-complicate things. In other fun news... I am planning a trip to the Black Hills in a couple of months! So I am also doing the financials on that and planning of sorts. I can't wait to go camping and see more of the state that I grew up in, people have the tendency to not actually explore the place that they live in.. which is super sad! Out here, there is so much to actually see when you get to the west part of the state. It's just a shame to not see it when I can actually retain the memories. I've gone to see Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse Monument before, but I was just a child then. I only have brief moments that I can actually recall from that trip.

Today was one of those days that was not too hot and humid but of course the wind was cool! So my boyfriend and I decided to jump in the apartment pool outside! A blizzard is what we have been getting and which I have been able to enjoy for the past couple of days! As the holidays come closer, I become more stressed. My job is more hectic, I have many more things on my to-do list, and of course I am finding less time to just relax and tell myself 'good job'. Sometimes the holidays for some people aren't cheerful and full of joy... sometimes it's a reminder of the people that aren't in our lives anymore or the family that isn't as close. If you have a friend who has one of those issues in their lives, do what I do and smother them (in your own way of course) with love and make sure they aren't alone during the holidays. I have found that the comfort of animals is one that I prefer to actual people sometimes. I remember a time when I was in high school that a friend of mine in my varsity orchestra let me come to her stables out of the city. I got to ride horses and relax from the problems that were going on at home. There is nothing more calming then bonding with a horse, grooming them, riding them and of course comforting. In the meantime I find comfort in music which might seem depressing to others, but helps me clear my mind.
