As the holidays come closer, I become more stressed. My job is more hectic, I have many more things on my to-do list, and of course I am finding less time to just relax and tell myself 'good job'. Sometimes the holidays for some people aren't cheerful and full of joy... sometimes it's a reminder of the people that aren't in our lives anymore or the family that isn't as close. I have found that the comfort of animals is one that I prefer to actual people sometimes. I remember a time when I was in high school that a friend of mine in my varsity orchestra let me come to her stables out of the city. I got to ride horses and relax from the problems that were going on at home. There is nothing more calming then bonding with a horse, grooming them, riding them and of course comforting. In the meantime I find comfort in music which might seem depressing to others, but helps me clear my mind.

As the days get colder my skin gets drier... (I know what you're thinking here.. "Why the hell is the conversation going there?" Just wait) the top of my hands are bone dry and actually flaking from how dry it is up here in South Dakota. Today I am coming up on the fourth day of recovery, now I have a few rules when it comes to recovering from surgery.... well they are more like guidelines, but what the heck. First and foremost... have a pain and bathroom management strategy. There has to be someone there to help you get both things done for at least two days or maybe three depending how messed up you are. Second, Food. Needs to happen. But if my readers are like me, I have absolutely no energy what so ever to get up, make food (in my case right now blend food) and insert into mouth. Last but not least, glorious sleep.
